Trump supporters construct US-Mexico barrier

The personal group says it has begun building on a US-Mexico border wall in New Mexico

A gaggle of Trump supporters has begun constructing the primary privately constructed US-Mexico border wall after a crowd-funding marketing campaign.

US army veteran Brian Kolfage posted an image of the metal fence going up within the state of New Mexico.

He mentioned it was being erected with greater than $22m (£17m) in donations he raised via an internet marketing campaign final 12 months.

The fundraiser was launched as Congress refused President Donald Trump funding for his signature marketing campaign promise.

Mr Kolfage, an Air Power veteran, triple amputee and Purple Coronary heart recipient, tweeted a sequence of movies and pictures displaying the brand new barrier on Sunday.

Former White Home chief strategist Steve Bannon is chairman of WeBuildtheWall’s advisory board.

Mr Bannon told CNN the brand new personal barrier would hyperlink two 21-mile sections of present fencing.

Kris Kobach, a former Kansas secretary of state who’s now basic counsel for WeBuildtheWall, advised CNN the privately constructed part would price as much as $8m.

He denied hating immigrants, saying he’s married to a Mexican girl, and his daughter was born in Ciudad Juarez.

“This isn’t about racism,” Mr Allen advised AFP. “That is about me defending myself, and America having a safe border.

“If individuals need to immigrate, they need to go to a port of entry and apply.”

WeBuildtheWall mentioned it was just the start of its mission to safe the US southern border.

“Buckle up, we’re simply getting began!” the group wrote on Fb.

US Customs and Border Safety advised the BBC: “This challenge will not be linked to our efforts.

“Please attain out to the corporate main building for any data associated to their endeavour.”

Final week a court docket blocked a plan by the Trump administration to channel defence division funds to construct a border wall.
